Robin Hood and Little John

Last weekend, the Metro Park had an archery activity. While Kate was staying at my parents, the boys and I loaded up and headed out. Back when I bought Henry's 24" bike, it looked quite big on him. Now it fits him nicely:

Part of that is the new bar and stem I put on, and part is that fact that he's grown over an inch since then.

Anyway, we arrive a bit early, so we stopped at the playground:

4:00 was time for archery, a reasonably quick instruction followed by some hands on:

My best shot and Henry's best hit about the same point on the target. Archery is much harder than I remember... then again, the last time I used a bow was fourth grade or so.

Henry spotted our heron on the way back:

Sam, too small to use the bow, was still happy to be along:

Oo-de-llally, oo-de-lally, golly what a day!

New Bike: Vaast A/1

In the middle of the summer, I got an itch for a proper gravel bike. I have several bikes that are perfectly adequate to ride on gravel road...
